Barton Mutual Selects
SpeedBuilder Portal
SpeedBuilder Systems LLC, a Columbia,
S.C.-based provider of software and services
for the insurance industry, announced that
Liberal, Mo.-based Barton Mutual Group has
successfully implemented BindExpress Portal
and several other components of the BindExpress Suite.
The new system is designed to enable
Barton and its independent agents to quote
and bind new business policies for the crime,
glass, BOP, liability and CPP lines of business,
with endorsements soon to follow. SpeedBuilder Systems’ BindExpress Product Configurator, BindExpress Rating, and BindExpress
Underwriting components power the portal’s once-and-done, straight-through processing using all AAIS rates, rules and forms.
“BindExpress has transformed our com-
mercial lines service,” says Joel Dermott,
CIO of Barton Mutual Group. “Agents love
the flexibility of getting quotes themselves
at any time. Since we now capture all re-
quired information up front, our underwrit-
ers can focus on reviewing risks and not
chasing paper, improving overall efficiency
for submissions.”
Access Adds Human
Capital Mgt. Solution
Ultimate Software, a Weston, Fla.-based
provider of end-to-end human capital management (HCM) software-as-a-service solutions, announced that auto insurer Access
Insurance selected UltiPro Workplace for
comprehensive HCM, including HR, payroll,
recruitment, performance management, salary planning and time management.
Atlanta-based Access says UltiPro’s strategic business intelligence will enable them
to parse workforce information across HR
specialties that have previously been siloed,
which will enable them to plan and operate
more strategically and cost effectively.
“We knew we didn’t want a mainframe
solution with a Web interface or a disparate
application that was pieced together,” says
David Hughes, VP of HR for Access Insur-
ance. “We are a high-growth company, and
in order to manage expansion efficiently,
we needed a truly unified solution that
could deliver powerful ad-hoc reports,
which is why we selected UltiPro.”
Alfa Vision Selects SAS To
Aid Customer Retention
Alfa Vision Insurance Corp., a Brentwood,
Tenn.-based nonstandard auto subsidiary
of Alfa Insurance Co., selected a product
from Cary, N.C.-based business analytics
software provider SAS to help boost its retention rates.
Based on a recommendation from Elite
Technology Solutions, a SAS Alliance partner with expertise in developing analytic
solutions for insurance, Alfa Vision chose
SAS Analytics Pro.
SAS Analytics Pro is designed to enable
users to access, manipulate, analyze and
present information on their own. Because it
works on the desktop, it does not require
resource-intensive IT support, as users can
access data from most any source, SAS says.
