Selects edgeConnect
Utica National Insurance Group, Utica, N. Y.,
will use edge IPK’s edgeConnect to provide
enhanced service to all distribution channels,
beginning with agents and internal users.
edgeConnect is designed to help solve the
challenge of delivering secured optimal user
experiences to any user, through any device,
on any browser and in any language.
Farmington, Conn.-based edge IPK says
that utilizing the edgeConnect platform,
Utica National will be able to configure and
deliver a customized presentation layer to
the company’s wide range of users through
Web enablement of—and mobile access
to—the company’s IBM legacy mainframe.
Starting with the commercial package
product line, Utica National will provide the
agent channel with quoting, while providing
access and extended capabilities to the underwriting team, edge IPK says.
Kingsway America Selects
Insuresoft Policy Admin
Elk Grove Village, Ill.-based Kingsway
America Inc. will implement The Dia-
mond System from Insuresoft, a software
provider to the property/casualty indus-
try. University Park, Ill.-based Insuresoft
says its product will manage Kingsway’s
policy administration processes for its
non-standard auto line of business in Illi-
nois and Indiana.
Narragansett Bay Insurance
to Utilize Blue Wave
Pawtucket, R.I.-based Narragansett Bay
Insurance Co. (NBIC) has completed
the second and final phase in the implementation of PipelineClaims 4. 2
software application from Honolulu-based Blue Wave Technology.
PipelineClaims 4. 2 comprises one of
the core solutions in NBIC’s Project APEX
technology initiative, in which NBIC is
looking to modernize its in-house legacy
systems. The goal is to establish a highly
advanced, flexible and nimble technology
environment that will allow NBIC to deliver exceptional customer service.
After deciding on a best-of-breed ap-
proach for the project, NBIC chose Pipe-
lineClaims to help consolidate IT process-
es and create a more fluid, configurable
claims workflow. Since the initial imple-
mentation in August 2010, Blue Wave and
NBIC have worked together to imple-
ment the full integration of Pipeline-
Claims with NBIC’s other core solutions,
says the vendor.
Nationwide Selects
Guidewire Claims
Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. and
Guidewire Software, a San Mateo, Ca-lif.-based provider of core systems to
property/casualty insurers, announced
that Nationwide selected Guidewire
ClaimCenter as its new claims management system. Nationwide will begin
deployment of the solution in its commercial and personal auto lines.
Guidewire ClaimCenter is an end-to-
end claims management system designed
to enable insurers to define, enforce and
continually refine their preferred claims
handling practices in order to optimize
and monitor their claim processes. The
solution is available as a standalone sys-
tem, or as part of the Guidewire Insur-
anceSuite, and can be integrated into an
insurer’s legacy systems or third-party ap-
plications, Guidewire says.
